Nick Hogan involved in serious car crash

(CNN) -- A high-speed car accident in Florida has left the teenage son of wrestling star Hulk Hogan seriously injured and a companion in critical condition late Sunday, police said.

Nick Bollea, 17, was the driver of a Toyota Supra that went out of control while driving at a "high rate of speed" about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, said Wayne Shelor, a spokesman for the Clearwater police in Clearwater, Florida.

The car "inexplicably left the roadway," jumped across a raised median and slammed into a palm tree just east of downtown, Shelor said.

"It destroyed the car," he said.

Firefighters had to extract Bollea and his passenger, whose identity was not immediately released, from the wreckage. Both were flown to a hospital in nearby St. Petersburg, Florida, Shelor said.

Does not sound too good. If any of you ever watched Hogan Knows Best it always showed how obsessed Nick was with vehicles and particularry high speed racing. Not a good sign because they said he was speeding when the accident happened...

Earlier today, the Hogan family through Linda issued the following
statement.

"My son Nick and a friend were involved in a car accident last
night. Nick suffered minor injuries and has been treated and released from
the hospital. At this time, his friend, John Graziano remains hospitalized.
Nick is currently at the hospital with John and his family. His sole concern
is for the well being of his friend. On behalf of my family, we ask that
your thoughts and prayers be with John and his loved ones." The passenger in
Nick Hogan's car is a 22 year old friend who returned from Iraq last year
after serving with the United States Marines according to his grandmother in
a story published by TBO.COM. Nick Hogan is due in a St. Petersburg court on
September 10th for some previous traffic violations including speeding in a
45 mph construction zone and failing to wear a seatbelt.

Wonder if Hogan Knows Best was taping a new season when this happened so they cloud sleeze of this incident? Nick was caught speeding two weeks before the accident occured....Just not a good situation. At least there was only one person with him, previous reports suggested two.

Update on passenger:

CLEARWATER -- Family and friends leaned on each other, holding hands, praying that 22-year-old John Graziano recovers from his injuries.

"It's going to take time," Graziano's girlfriend Ashley Berry said. "He's progressing little by little, and we just need everyone to continue to pray."

And that's what Wednesday night's vigil was all about. Rain didn't stop the large group from lighting candles and singing. At exactly 7:30, the time of Sunday's accident, a special prayer was read aloud.

John's longtime girlfriend Ashley has been by his bedside since the accident. She says he's unconscious, and that the Hogan family brought in a special doctor to check him out. They are optimistic.

"They did say that the hospital is doing whatever they can," Berry said.

John's older sister Christin has been at his bedside, too.

"He's my brother, and my hero and I love him very much," she said.

Hopefully he will recover (Nick's friend) and hopefully Nick will learn a lesson from this whole incident. I remember that Nick was driving since he was 14 on Hogan Knows Best because he had a special license...

Apparently the Hogan family already hired a lawyer to prepare for a possible upcoming apperance in court in case charges were pressed against Nick.
