Vince's "death"

WWE management is said to be very happy with the media coverage of the Vince’s “death” angle. WWE.com had one of its best traffic days every yesterday and they were also really happy that The Sopranos ended the way it did since it added another angle to their storyline.

The Wilkes Barre Times-Leader out of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania actually contacted the FBI to see if they were investigating the “car bomb” incident on Monday’s RAW. Special agent spokesperson Jerri Williams for the FBI’s Philadelphia office said “The ‘federal agent’ (referenced on the WWE.com Web site) is definitely not the FBI. We have not been made aware of any car bombings. … We would definitely have been informed.” With all the media outlets reporting this as legit WWE is going to have some severe backlash for pulling such a stunt.

The McMahon family is scheduled to release a “statement” on WWE.com concerning Vince’s death sometime today.

If you were watching RAW Monday night, the promo for the Tri-branded Battle Royal had images of all participating wrestlers. It's funny to see that Ric Flair was on the Smackdown side, but never participated. Matt Hardy was in his place. Just thought I'd share that with you guys.

The WWE website shows a picture of the WWE Corporate Headquarters in Connecticut, with the WWE flag at half mast in honor of the presumed dead Mr. McMahon. But the photo also shows the American Flag on the same building, flying at full mast. That’s because it is a federal crime to display the American flag against regulation. You can fly the flag at half mast in honor of someone who has died, but you would be breaking the law to fly it for someone who is only pretending to have died. I guess kayfabe isn’t strong enough to break the flag code for a website picture. I just thought it was funny, as they are doing a great job of treating this all as if Vince really died on the website and everything, I’d have thought they’d crop the photo or something to maintain that storyline.
