Brazil to host World Cup 2014

FIFA.com - Brazil confirmed as 2014 hosts

Since no one bid against them this isn't a surprise, but a formality. 2014 was going to be in South America, and 2018 is destined for Europe.

This puts off US hopes until 2022 at the earliest, which is a shame considering how MLS is going at this time. It would be HUGE for MLS to be able to feature their DPs in National Team unis.

2010 is for South Africa unless something unexpected happens, if it does the assumption is that only Germany, UK and USA could step in on short notice.
