The Sports Hernia Blog: Nats president Stan Kastens unsure why everyone thinks his team sucks
They responded to Kasten from here Quote:
Part of the problem Stan is that your Manager is going to pick the lesser man for the job in LF and his only choices for 1B are two other lesser men than Church. INNOVATE and have Church start at first. Let Young and TLee battle for the power bat on bench role. Likely Young. That would be the best offense out of those four guys, and you wouldn't be as light a hitting team while also improving your ability to prevent outs. Now looking at the rotation. It blows. Maybe if Patterson hadn't been injured last year he could be expected to be a leader of the staff, but the rotation is made up of five question marks. I'm really saddened as I have to watch the Jedi play for another team, after the silly manager here in Seattle wasn't willing to give him a shot. He should be starting in LF or DH for a team somewhere, not "competing" for a job. I am definately willing to say that by the AllStar break the Nationals will be further from the WC in the NL than the Mariners are in the AL. Neither will be division leaders.

The Nats are young, but they might be better than people think. If Chico is as ready as he looks, Casto does what the Nats expect, adn Snelling is as good as we think, the Nationals could win some ballgames. They certainly have a strong bullpen.
