Take it with a grain of salt but these were posted on another forum:

It makes me think of Team USA uniforms but also the New York Rangers... maybe it's just the colors.
The web site these are hosted on is from a graphic designer... That's part of the reason why you should take this with a grain of salt. |

Lets just say it beats the old uniforms the Capitals had! I like the design, it looks very fresh and new edge.
Though I must admit, it does kind of remind me of the United States' jerseys, but hey its by the Capital so it floats my boat

By the way the Capitals will "officially" reveal their new uniforms at their June 22 Draft Day Party.

YOUR boat or THERE boat, Jose?
I hated the old Capitals Red-White-and-Blues (with the hockey stick as part of the logo). I've liked both of the "Federal" jersey's that have utilized dark blues and gold among other colors. Am I in a minority on this? |

I don't know, if i like these, but I guess us fans don't have a say. I mean the "sweater" is almost competely dead. Very sad, the history of the NHL is getting further and further away, and becoming a much more distant memory.

Well, instead of taking a broad attack on the fact that jersey styles are changing from the sweater design to the sleek design...
The colors are consistent with the Capitals colors of the past. It's also consistent that the jersey's look blech to some and nice to others. |

I guess my traditionalist opinion is clouding whether or not I like these. I mean the colors are teh same, but they've changed the logo itself to a degree. I don't like the idea of putting the Capital (building) in the logo, not sure why it really bugs me, but it does.
The new jersey also bothers me because, one of the great things about the current sweaters is that when a skater streaks down the ice, you can see their sweater/jersey flow in the breeze, that will no longer be possible. I mean can you imagine seeing Orr in a jersey like this, his speed woulda been lost to the viewers. Just not astetically appealing

I have spoken with someone I know at the league office and he said these are NOT the new jerseys.
And, as a graphic designer, I can say I agree very much with an earlier comment that if these images came from a designer, the grain of salt it needs to be taken with is huge. They are definitely going to be red, white and blue, but we will have to wait until the draft to see them. |

Whatever the case may be, the render was done quite well compared to some of the mockups that came out earlier this year.
There will be several jersey changes (as you said on my blog JSM) but I'm hoping some of these changes are subtle and not radical. |
