Isn't Washington the capital of the US of A?

In looking like the All Star jersey's -- well, I think we can attribute that to the RBK Edge design that was displayed with the all-star jersey's this year.

but is this the way we really want to see the NHL go. All they keep doing is reforming themselves to appeal to the casual fan, there is just something about watching a guy streaking down the ice and his jersey flapping in the wind, and with these new designs that will be no more.

See, that doesn't get me. There are a thousand different things to complain about in the NHL and a tighter jersey IMHO is not it. I have problems with Bettman, I have problems with Campbell, I have problems with NHL marketing... The REAL problem is these things will cost 200 bucks to obtain (and the replicas will also be above 100 bucks) and only die hards can afford them... or will be willing to pay out for them.

You can''t reach the masses by only catering to the die hards. You can't make more people die hards if you make the game inaccessible.

my complaint here is a minor one, but it's just another irritant for me. I couldn't agree with you more about the whole making the game inaccessible. They put the games on a network that hardly anyone can find unless you are a diehard, and the crew is ok but the overall broadcast sucks, and really isn't fan friendly.

How tho do we get this message to Bettman, and genuinely have him hear us diehard fans who see this so much differently than us.

To go off on a different tangent, Drury... What I wonder (with this jersey) is what OTHER teams have in store for changes? Has anyone seen any of the other rumored jersey changes? They're being kept under tight raps of course...

The Bruins will reveal their new uniforms on June 21st. The team was nice enough to invite me to the unveiling ceremony (”We know your views on hockey uniforms are well read and respected,” read the e-mail I received yesterday), but shlepping up to Boston on my own dime just so I can scarf some free hors d’oeuvres and take some photos that won’t be as good as the ones taken by the professional shutterbugs in attendance isn’t really my idea of a good time.

Uni Watch » Couldn’t They Have Given the Players Some Sleeves?

Well the Bruins are supposed to release their new uni's on 6/21. I've heard that they may go back to the style of the original six uni's but if this caps jersey is anything close to correct, I'd find that difficult to do with the newer jersey styles.

I've heard rumblings that the Lightning would do some uniform/logo "tweaks" but the team has been tight lipped about anything and everything regarding a sweater change or logo change.

If this is the uniform for 2007-08, I kinda like it. I don't know what people are saying about the edge jerseys, they're awsome, look cool, sounds awsome (well, according to RBK and the NHL). As soon as i can I'll get a Saku Koivu jersey!

This begs another question -- will the NHL push for sales prices on jersey's/ sweaters in the old design? The prices are outrageous for even replica sweaters and if there is a lot of backstock for the CCM/RBK jerseys for each team - it may be wise from a marketing perspective to encourage teams to sell off their stock at below-average prices.

For posterity -- this was posted on 2K sports back before the All-Star break (along with other team uniform changes)... It gives another view of a potential "return to red-white-and-blue":

I've personally been fine with the last two sweaters the Caps have used (the black ones and the dark blue ones) but I keep hearing people harp on those sweaters as much as the old red-white-and-blue-stick logo
