TORONTO (ESPN.com) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs hope that captain Mats Sundin will be able to return on Saturday when they host the Boston Bruins.

Sundin had been out since November 6 with an elbow injury. However, the Leafs have gone 4-2-1 in Sundin's absence.

Toronto comes off an impressive 7-1 drubbing of the Washington Capitals on Friday. Jeff O'Neill and Darcy Tucker each had a goal and two assists for the Maple Leafs, who went 3-for-5 on the power play.

The Bruins come off a 5-1 loss to the Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes on Friday. following a stretch where they won three of four games.

Tim Thomas started for Boston but was pulled after surrendering three goals on 25 shots. Philippe Sauve replaced Thomas and stopped 13-of-15 shots. Patrice Bergeron scored the only goal for Boston, which was outshot, 40-26.

The Leafs and Bruins meet again on Tuesday in Toronto in the second game of a stretch where Boston plays four of five on the road.
GO LEAFS GO! Keep it rolling.

I have a feeling we may win this one, I'm saying 4-2.

The Leafs are playing very well. Is Sundin back yet?

Sundin will be returning tonight. I have no idea what the line combo's will be though hopefully they don't mess with Wellwood/Poni/Antro, Stajan/Tucker/O'Neil

Steen could benefit from having Sundin.

It is not just you. Just ask Raptors' fans. It's to maximize national exposure to the Leafs on Hockey Night in Canada.

It's incredibly unfair to the other five Canadian teams, especially the Habs.

I'd like to see a stop to this favouritism, as well.

Leafs = Ratings

Anywho, 2-0 Boston thus far in the first period, Leafs look tired and uninterested thus far.

Why shouldn't the Leafs be shown every Saturday? Toronto has the largest and most widespread fan base in the country. Every reason in the world that they should be on. Montreal fans have RDS.

We will have to agree to disagree on that. I don't think my family out in Vancouver should root for the Leafs just because it's what their parents did back in the Original Six era. They are the Toronto Maple Leafs, not Team Canada. And believe me, I live in New York, so I understand the urge to want to cheer for the country's team.

Also, it seems like the Leafs wear their white jerseys at home much more often than any other team in the league.

The leafs also get away with diving and nonpenalty calls. It makes me wonder if the league ever watches Tucker play.

I hope he never plays for Boston.

Yea and I'm sure Boston got away with nothing.

Don't worry about tucker, you should worry about keeping your own players, that's more than enough of a challenge for your team

I unfortunately live in Vancouver and there's more than a few Leaf fans out here for it to make sense for the Leafs to be on regularly.

And the Leafs wore their 3rd jerseys today...are they supposed to wear their away jerseys at home?? Seriously...

Funny, I very often hear on cbc, after the leafs game is over. "and we'd like to welcome the viewers that were watching the Toronto (vs other team here)... game." They show us the remainder of the habs or sens game.

Like someone mentioned Habs have RDS for all the habs games on Saturday.

I don't even know what you are talking about. You should be more specific in your retort. I don't recall Boston getting rid of anyone this year. Toronto turned over almost as many players from last year no?

I believe that Brad Boyes (a former Toronto draft pick they didn't "keep") scored the insurance goal to insure the win tonight.

If you refer to Joe "no show in the playoffs" Thornton and Sergei "always injured and when in coughs up the puck to give up 2 on 1s" Samsonov there are not many in Boston who are upset that they are gone. They had 10 years to get the job done and didn't.

Last year Raycroft was so horrible it was unbelievable. I am sure that demon will show up too as soon as the Toronto press starts to be negative in a losing streak about him. He couldn't take the pressure of Boston I can just imagine how much more there would be in Toronto.

Ehhh whatever Boston has been playing well, their best since before the lockout.

Stupid fans who make predictions about other teams and it is only November show their ignorance about hockey which is a TEAM game.

Trust me the players Boston got rid of were traded for a reason.

Hey I am honest fan .... Toronto's PP is excellent as is their penalty killing. Sundin is awesome, Tucker is a good player but he is also a cheapshot artist and to deny it is being the fool and a "homer".

He dives all over the place like Briere for Buffalo.

Admit it at least.

I know Boston is low in the depth department, the PK is horrid and making the playoffs will be extremely difficult BUT I can admit it and so can other Boston fans. Believe it or not American hockey fans in new England are well educated about the game and most of us played it in highschool or college.

A lot of Toronto fans won't admit their team's faults unless they are speaking to another Leafs fan. You exampled it in your comments about Boston keeping players.

All I did was point out that Tucker cheats by diving incessantly and he also is a cheapshot artist exampled by plays like the hits he gives out to hurt people.

He is the Dale Hunter of our era.

There is a level of arrogance like with New York Yankee fans among the Leafs fanbase I could never understand (conisdering they haven't won jack since whenever at least Boston lost a couple of Stanley Cups since the leafs have won anything) and it has been that way since my childhood in the early 70s.

I was referring to the Bruins and their RFA's. I thought it would have been fairly obvious but I guess not...

naw, i was pretty sure that you were talking about our player turnover.

what is unfair about a saturday night home games (when you have vastly more home games on a saturday), is that not only will the home team be guaranteed a full house, seeings how it is saturday(i know the leaves sell out quite often saturday or not), most people have the next day off there is a good chance that the home crowd will be very roudy (thank the Molson corp for that!). that is where i see an unfair advantage. over the course of a season that will make up for a few extra wins in theory.

and no, the leaves are not Canada's team. infact really i don't think that Canada has a team, all of the franchises have been around long enough to have had a generation or two of fans (at a min-ottawa), so every section of the country has it's own local team that generally they cheer for. In Saskatchewan for example (because we obvously don't have a local team), we have a mix of fans for all canadian teams, and american teams (even screwed up people who cheer for Dallas!). you would think that the fans in Saskatchewan would cheer for the 2 alberta franchises, but that's not quite true, it really is a good mix.

but there is no arguement, the Rapors are Canada's basketball team!!!
