Well this extension probably doesn't mean much at all. In no way does it guarantee him a job for any period of time. But say you get rid of him - who is there to replace him with?

JFJ most likely earned his option on his signings alone. Think about it. We keep Caber and Cabs, while Mucks couldn't do the same with his combo? And who's team went golfing early last season to boot.

Now we need to worry about contracts for Sundin, Tucker, Peca and Antropov.

Let him find them contracts and then we can hand him the pink slip.

As good as the signings have been and as much as I like them. ITs way too early to sing Fergie's praises over a quarter of the season. He needs to prove it over a full season and lets see this early success continue.

Overall JFJ is a good GM, not a great GM but may develop into one with time. THe only way I fire him is if I Get an elite GM like LM in NJ or BB in Anahiem to come over.

yea, but Mucklers Combo was on a different level when it came to talent, especially when it comes to McCabe (whom he vastly over paid for IMO).

The McCabe deal was a dumb one. The worst move JFJ made was NOT trading him at the deadline.
