Yeh I had the same feeling...I love the new logo and how it goes with everything but this one may not be as nice. It's representing Toronto pride tho for the citizens of that town. For those who didn't see it: BVTN has a description and we have a photo of Thomas wearing it.

It's nothing special. It's not good, it's not bad. It's just there.
And I believe it's there for a reason. Someone said a while back that the Jays are going to be abandoning the road greys and using the black alternates as a road uniform. If that's the case (and I hope it's not) then the Jays needed, in my opinion, to do something to ensure that "Toronto" is represented on the uniforms. The road greys have the word "Toronto", and that's the only part of any uniform that identified the city. So if they really are scrapping the greys, then it was necessary to recognize the city the team represents. |

I read a bunch of negative comments here and at battersbox, so I came in expecting the worst. And I ended up thinking it wasn't too bad. Just as long as there is no grey hat, it looked awful. Although it's too bad the grey uniforms are bidding adieu.

Meh, its not exactly hideous yet not original either. Took a few seconds to realize it was a “T”, and to be honest the current one is much better. Besides, from a promotional perspective it seems that the new hat is quite popular, just based on the number of people wearing them – even people who have no idea what baseball or the Blue Jays are. Why mess with a good thing.

I hope everyone's clear that this is merely an alternate cap. Some of the comments seem to be under the impression that the J-Bird logo will not be used on caps. The "T" logo is merely an alternate.
And I'm changing my mind on the "T". I like it. I prefer J-Bird, and I definitely prefer the original logo, which is the only one I consider the "true" Blue Jay logo ... but I like the "T". |
