Default Already time for players to step up!

I was just watching SC and this is what I heard: Johnson out for 3 months (until July!) with a herniated disk in his back that needs surgery, Ryan out 4-6 weeks with an elbow strain similiar to Chacinds last year and Glaus has been placed on the 15 day DL with a heel problem. With this much controversy so early we already need some players to step it up, those include: Frasor, who will be the closer until Ryan comes back, Lind, who will be the starting LF in place for Johnson and Macdonald/Smith, I'm thinking they will be platooning at third while Glaus is down. I think Frasor can probably get the job done and it will be good if he only blows 1 or 2 opportunities. Lind, IMO, will fill in admirably in place of Johnson and could maybe even out produce him. Good thing Glaus is only out 15 days because Im not to sure about Macdonald/Smith. If they can bat .270 combined and play great defence as usual it will be all right. WE CAN DO IT!

I don't think we can compete until McGowen Jannsen or Zambrano are put in the rotation. Our 3-4-5 is pathetic.

Ohka has been awful but Towers just pitched a beauty of a game recently and maybe he has re-gained his 2005 form and Chacin has not been to bad. Lets hope Chance can somehow outpitch Matsuzaka tomorrow!

The 3-4-5 aren't that bad, particularly when you look around at our competitors. I agree that ultimately someone else will need to step into the rotation to replace who turns out to be the weakest link. And frankly, it wouldn't surprise me if the weakest link turns out to be Chacin. (Which would lead to the inevitable "do we replace a lefty starter with a righty" debate.) But the rotation is as-is as long as all the starters show that they're capable of doing their job and being part of a competitive rotation. So it's win-win, in a way.

Our 3-4-5 talent wise is significantly worse than Boston's and likely too weak for us to win the wild card. Not having relyable pitching is a concern, we're basically playing musical chairs with inconsistent Triple A types and whoever can post the best results gets put in the rotation otherwise there replaced by Taubenheim or whatever.

So far the in the 3-4-5 spots Ohka seems to be the weakest link.
