Nice depth signing, only $500,000 plus incentives. This is big for the team. Certainly if Towers isn't in the rotation.

I have always liked Thompson, and at that price he is a great option for the middle of the rotation. Even if he tanks, its not like we are spending much on him.

Jays also signed Jason Frasor to a $825 000 one year deal and avoided arbitration. They still have Rios, Overbay, Johnson and Downs all eligible for arbitration.
