Mixed feelings on this move. Its going to be nice to see his bat in the lineup still. |

Interesting to note that this is an extension on his previous deal, so we have him signed for the next five seasons guaranteed. A lot of money, but that's due to a crazy market and a pressuring player's association. He's a great player and I'm glad he's back.

But, then again, I'm a Red Sox fan, and he absolutely murders us, so I'd love to see him leave and go to the NL. Seriously, this would be a great move for the Jays. As mentioned, it would be a great message to other players, and in this market, he's certainly 'worth' it. |

To all Jays fans, a question. What are they putting into the Molson's? Your team has gone crazy with all the money they are spending. Well is a good player, but he isn't worht 18 million. no player is.

Hunter's career OPS is .786 Jones career OPS is .850 Beltran's is .847 Wells is also the youngest of all 4. Yet Hunter and Jones will likely be making more than Wells in 2008 after their contracts next off-season. Last edited by fmradioguy; 12-16-2006 at 10:40 AM. |

Great move by JP to get Wells resigned. If he goes to free agency I believe he gets more money then we offered him. I honestly didn't think JP could get Wells' contract extended and I'm very glad he did. We add another arm (Mulder please) and we are in great position to make a run at the playoffs.
