Do you guys have any Pitchers in mind for upgrading the number 3 spot in the Jays rotation.
Guys I thought of: Brett Myers Estoban Loaiza Mark Mulder Matt Clement Jake Westbrook Freddy Garcia Cole Hamels Jorge Sosa John Rheinecker Scott Proctor (Used to be Starter) Renyel Pinto Carl Pavano Joquin Benoit Juan Dominguez |

Pavano might be worth a gamble if the Yankees as expected pick up most of his salary. I doubt they would trade him to their top divisiion competitior though.
They definetely won't trade Proctor to us. Mulder is asking for too much consdiering he is injured. The others are either unrealistic possibilities, don't find interesting or don't know enough about their situations to comment. |

When its all said and done our team's talent level probably needs to be close to this for the Jays to be at a playoff calibre level: Around 97 wins
Rotation 1 Halladay 21 wins 3.30 2 Burnett 17 wins 3.95 3 Myers* 15 wins 4.30 4 Chacin 13 wins 4.45 5 Marcum 12 wins 4.55 Solid Rotation If we can't signifincantly upgrade the 3rd spot of the Rotation from the Jannsen's or Taubenheim's we might wanna consider Brandon League with the idea that League can be a Ching Ming Wang Jake Westbrook type starter. He's got the stuff and durability and there's a good chance he'd be more productive in a starters role. Bullpen 1 Ryan 1.95 2 League 3.25 3 Accardo 3.65 4 Romero 4.45 5 Frasor 4.20 6 Jannsen 3.95 7 McGowen/Downs/Taubenheim/Rosario 4.35 Looks solid, adding David Percy sometime during the season would be nice. Lineup 1 2B Hill 305 15 hr 2 LF Lind 300 20 hr 3 CF Wells 300 35 hr 4 DH Thomas 270 40 hr 5 1B Overbay 305 28 hr 6 3B Glaus 260 40 hr 7 RF Rios 315 33 hr 8 C Zaun 260 17 hr 9 SS Smith 255 12 hr Nice balanced lineup of Power bats and contact hitters We'll probably have the best Offense and Defense in the division Bench 1 C Phillips 2 OF Johnson 3 Inf Clayton 4 Inf Hattig/McDonald Best bench in Division Does anyone understand why we have Smith/Clayton/McDonald |

Scronny, if those predictions come true we're winning 100 games.
I love your optimism, but I can't see us not having a SINGLE pitcher with an ERA over 4.55, and while I think Lind, Rios, and Zaun are all capable of the stats you predicted, it would be highly unlikely that more than 1 of those 3 would have a season that good. I do however, hope you are bang on! |

Obviously there will be some injuries and off years that are unpredictable.
What I like is that we have very few players with much chance of disapointing and we have loads of depth to make up for it with either a trade or from players within the organization. We no longer have to stick with an 0-8 starter or a mediocre outfielder or infielder or reliever. |
