Default OT- Laura Gainey

As many of you have probably heard, Bob Gainey GM of the Montreal Canadiens daughter Laura was swept to sea by a large wave a few days ago. Rescue workers have been searching day and night for her and the longer it continues without any news the possibility of a tragic ending increases. She was a strong swimmer so there is still some hope that she has been able to survive somehow.

I am from Peterborough, Ontario the same town the Gainey family is from. I hope we can all keep them in our thoughts as the search continues.

Yeah, terrible news. They did call off the massive search but are still looking for the body. My best wishes to the Gainey Family.

Your right Anne the search has officially been called off.

As far as I am concerned until they find a body there is still some hope. But it doesn't look too promisiing.

any word on how far out to sea it happened? I mean, if they werent too far from shore or an island, and she was a good swimmer, maybe she could have made it. But if they were out in the middle of nowhere, it doesnt look good at all

I think if I remember correctly it was about 760 Kilometres. So not close enough to shore to have swum.

Yeah, she was an avid ocean sport lover and a very strong swimmer, but the waves were massive there's no way she survived and pretty much the Gainey Family has come to the Fact that she has died. They had a moment of silence in her honour for the Gainey Family last night at the Habs vs Bruins game. God Bless her soul.
