Is that out of hatred for the Yankees or do you see him as someone that can burn the Jays in the division? Maybe a combination of both? As a Yankee fan I think that it would be better to go after Andy Pettite. We could get him at less of a financial hit then Lilly, as well as being able to sign him to a shorter deal. It looks like Lilly is going to get 4 years and 40 million dollars, which is the same amount of money we paid for Carl Pavano... |

Right now its looking like Lilly might go to New York and Meche will sign with the Cubs.
I say its probably a good thing. Now what do you guys think about making an inquiry into Miguel Batista? I would be happy if we put some of that money towards Gagne. I know we are pretty good in the bullpen but you can never be too good. |

I've always wanted Mulder and to a lesser extent Lilly, and no one else (well, maybe Schmidt, LOL)
We already have 5 starters better than Meche. No need to blow $10 Million there, that would be a complete bonehead move. I'd be more comfortable with Janssen than Meche in the #5 spot. Use the money on Mulder, then resign Wells. Doc AJ Mulder Chacin Marcum/Janssen Id be jacked with that |

I bet he would have.
I also bet if during the season we had offered Wells a 5 year, $60 million dollar extension midseason he would have taken it. Thanks JP, for refusing to discuss contract with Vernon until after the season. Brilliant move. |
