Down to the Yankees and Cubs.

Hope he goes to the Cubs.

Is that out of hatred for the Yankees or do you see him as someone that can burn the Jays in the division? Maybe a combination of both? As a Yankee fan I think that it would be better to go after Andy Pettite. We could get him at less of a financial hit then Lilly, as well as being able to sign him to a shorter deal. It looks like Lilly is going to get 4 years and 40 million dollars, which is the same amount of money we paid for Carl Pavano...

Its more to do with the fact that the Cubs will stink, and I want to see him struggle at Wrigley.

I'm taking this as you don't like him then?

I dont like the fact that he just used the Jays to drive up his value. He clearly had no interest in coming back.

So yes, he can stick it.

Haha that makes sense. I don't want him either. The Cubs can have him.

Right now its looking like Lilly might go to New York and Meche will sign with the Cubs.

I say its probably a good thing. Now what do you guys think about making an inquiry into Miguel Batista?

I would be happy if we put some of that money towards Gagne. I know we are pretty good in the bullpen but you can never be too good.

I've always wanted Mulder and to a lesser extent Lilly, and no one else (well, maybe Schmidt, LOL)

We already have 5 starters better than Meche. No need to blow $10 Million there, that would be a complete bonehead move.

I'd be more comfortable with Janssen than Meche in the #5 spot.

Use the money on Mulder, then resign Wells.

Doc
AJ
Mulder
Chacin
Marcum/Janssen

Id be jacked with that

Thank you! I have been on the Mulder bandwagon for sometime now.

If during the regular season we offered Lilly a 4 year 32dollar extension, you think he would have taken it?

I bet he would have.

I also bet if during the season we had offered Wells a 5 year, $60 million dollar extension midseason he would have taken it.

Thanks JP, for refusing to discuss contract with Vernon until after the season. Brilliant move.
