If I didn't think you were serious, I'd be howling.
Barry Bonds? Curt Schilling? What bank are the Rays going to rob to sign these guys, even considering these players would want to sign here? Why would the Rays want Miguel Tejada and his 10 million per year price tag? Maybe it's not as good as Tejada, but Brendan Harris is giving good production at a fraction of the price. Do you really think the Rays will get anyone, let alone a quality ML player, for Elijah Dukes? He has potential, but he didn't do much at the big league level and he's a bucket full of problems. Paul Lo Duca. Another old guy? The Rays want to get younger. Also, the Cubs can keep the oft-injured Kerry Wood. Talent for days yes, but there are few things more frustrating to fans than the player with talent who is constantly on the DL. Obviously you're someone who enjoys the game, but most of these trades / signings just don't make sense. It seems you're trying to make the Rays a contender quickly, and if you read what the owners and GM say, that is not their focus. They want to build through draft picks, and then will strengthen the team with veteran free agents. But I do enjoy these wacky trade threads. |

What's the point of the thread? The title is an argument and the content is wishful thinking to a grand degree.

Yes, the D-Rays will shock the world... they will outbid the Yankees for Posada and become a contender this offseason.
