Well, lets think about this for a minute...

Maddon couldn't put together a bullpen that worked last year, he couldn't find a consistent closer either. He and the Rays front office did nothing to find a reliever in the off season and have done little or nothing to find one during spring training.

So basically it will be closer-by-committee again. Not that the Rays are going to need a closer if the bullpen performs as poorly as it did last year.

You know it's bad when you lament the loss of Lance Carter.

There is no one with closer stuff on this roster except McClung, and if I'm Maddon I cut him. He's been brutal this spring.

Maddon indicates it will be closer by committee, which translated means there will be a lot of late inning runs. There are few things more frustrating to fans than that, unless it's the closer who can't close.

McClung got sent down today.
he is mad at his agent he had an option and his agent did not tell him, seems to me you should know yourself. he counts for four send downs, I guess that gives you options, I think after three times you can opt out.

There is no closer, two years running now.

Ownership is banking on 2010, that's when there last few pitchers that they drafted high will be ready for a call up.

Reyes was the closer last night.
Pasada made the final out and man I thought it was going out, the Rays announcer scared me when he shouted long ball to right!
I am so shell shocked I thought it was gone, whew, 500 again.

.500 again? They've only reached .500 now.

Rays: Maddon keeping an eye on closer's comeback

Help coming?

I don't know if handing the closing duties to Percival is the right idea.

He'll be anything but the closer. Maybe the setup guy, but Reyes has got the closer role sewn up.
