Waechter removed from roster

Heard Doug Waechter was taken off the 40-man roster while Dukes, Talbot and Elliot Johnson were added.

Will he be claimed by another team?

Maybe but I wouldn't put money on it. Teams are wacko this off season.

Waechter cleared waivers and was released. No interest out there in using a roster spot on a 4-A pitcher with a bum shoulder. Maybe he will sign a minor league deal with the Rays? After all, this organization probably represents the quickest route back to the majors given the current state of the pitching staff.
