Why would MLB want to move a team from a weak market to an even weaker market with no stadium?

Where's your proof Portland is "Even weaker"?

And having no stadium didn't stop MLB from moving the Expos to Washington or putting a team in Miami. RFK and Dolphin Stadiums aren't ballparks. They were temporary homes.

That could seat 50k. The park in Portland would have to be retrofitted to even get to 35K.

Its all moot anyway. I forgot to mention that the Rays have an ironclad lease with the city of St. Pete that will keep them there until the year 2027. They are not going anywhere.
