Default Hasn't quite caught on yet

12,000+ on Friday at the Dome made me shake my head.

26,000k on Saturday seemed more healthy...

Mother's day -- completing the sweep of the Angels? I haven't seen teh official attendance but soemwhere lower than 20k seemed about right.

The rays may be winning and may have a formidable pitching staff, but I think people are wary of the team. There has been promise in teh past that never materialized... There have been flashes of brilliance that soon gave way to mediocrity and less...

People will come, but I have to wonder if it won't be until September -- if the Rays are still in it by then.

Drubbing the yankees, 7-1... The crowd... well, they were drubbed at the ticket office again.

It will start in August

That's when it started for the Mariners in 95, before that we never had attendees

Well, there is a difference between Seattle and TB, Bedir... This town does turn out for a winner but I think everyone is still in disbelief... That or just are turned off to Baseball as a whole with all it's scandals?

Less than 14k last night for that big win. Jonny Gomes played up the "Evil Empire" role fo the Yankees to stoke the rivalry. Wonder if George or Hank Steinbrenner condem the team after this series, if it plays out again like last night?

Ian Kennedy to get the start today against the Rays.

What I'm saying is that there isn't a difference. No one showed up in Seattle until August of 95

Haven't seen a Rays game in over three weeks. But, I was checking some stats and they only have one guy hitting over .300. Are they a house of cards like the Marlins?

Just don't want to get my hopes up. John F, you should check out the link in my signature.

The club has been playing like an NL baseball team, DR34M. That's all I can keep saying -- not like a roid-fueld team but one that excells at small-ball.

BUt they alsoo seem tos truggle early on versu their opponents when it comes to hitting. But it's pitching that is the key for the team right now. The Bullpen is the best it's been for a Rays baseball team and the starting staff has been formidable.

And thanks for the link. Chuckles The Clown is someone I'd rather forget

All right, question -- and noen of the forum regulars should know about this or understand what I am asking about:

WHERE is the 142 Crew? Cuz that is the type of atmosphere the Rays need at the Trop: Someone bringing fun to the game.

I think they're still boycotting because the Rays didn't see the superstar potential of Bubba Trammell.

Anyone who sits in (my) section 300 knows that's where the vocal fans are. They are the ones who are whacking cowbells, doing the 'count off' when an opposing team's player strikes out, and generally making noise. Sometimes it's annoying, but for the most part I'm glad they're making noise.

Glad to see you around Tom!

LOL about the Trammell thing (and Sign guy getting his signs ripped up). I guess my point is that 142 Crew wasn't just vocal but they were bisible. Beyond the Trammell stuff. I mean it was a collective, ya know?

A publicized collective with thanks to ted Flemming who is MIA... Not trying to put down 300 -- but that (your reference) is the first time I have ehard about the group doing something like that.

Saturday Night remains the top draw day for the Rays. 36,048 at the park tonight - part of the draw was an after-game concert

Sunday was a decent crowd, at least better than the average.

I am not sure baseball will really catch on here. If it's not happening now, I don't think it ever will. The Rays can say, when school lets out, winning product, all that, but I am not convinced baseball will ever be the 'in' thing to do, like going to the Bucs games has become (or perhaps was).

The new ballpark will help for a while. I will say I am curious to see how they'll solve the issue of 95 degree heat with 95 percent humidity. The folks in charge of the stadium development say they will, but I'd love someone to state it in lay terms how it will work.
