Does Doug Janik have the inside track to the #6 D-man slot? Does Dan Jancevski have the top shot at replacing him on the roster? Or could someone come out of the blue and steal #6 (Smaby and Lampman and Rogers, Oh my!)?

And is Mike Egener being handed a raw deal by the team that heavily touted him at the time of his drafting in 2003? I'd expect to see him get more of a shot than be brushed off as much as it feels like he has been.
