So does anyone give substance to Erik E's speculation Janik will be dressed tonight and bring the D corp up to seven for the game?

janik will be scratched tonight.

Starting lineup for Tampa Bay - Prospal-Lecavalier-St. Louis; on defense Dan Boyle and Paul Ranger
For New Jersey - Sergei Brylin-John Madden-Jay Pandolfo and on defense Colin White and Brian Rafalski

All right, that settles THAT speculation. It would have been interesting though...

So, any predictions on performance? Feds actually play worthy of a higher line? O'Brien playing without gitters (rookies... really )?

C.A.A would be an intimidating place to play, seeing all those banners in the rafters.... well, if the arena wasn't a P.O.S. to begin with and in the middle of nowhere.

Holmqvist staves off the Devils PP with a great save.

2-1 New Jersey. The Lightning are going to have to find an offensive threat on even strength. Marty's goal comes on a 5-on-3 PP. If I recall, that amounted to the Lightning offense versus the Senators last season.

Holmqvist. Eh....

Holmqvist is really struggling out there. Hopefully, he settles down.

Great goal by Marty.

Sorry, JF, I know Perrin's your boy and all... but he looks like crap on the ice tonight.

Perrin's my boy? Oh, I did say he'd be the best worst player in the NHL this season (Mike Chen's hockey blog should have more on that)... I wouldn't say he's stinking up the place like other forwards out there who still find their way onto the top line with Vinny and Marty....

Well... at least I remember you being happy when the Bolts signed him. Maybe only due to his previous play w/ Party Marty. But--I assume you're talking about The Brad--at least Richards threw some body in the first, and set up that cannon shot from Marty.

The tale of this game is the Lightning overcoming (or not) the Devils defensive scheme. 6 shots on goal. 4 chances. They've gotta find a way...

I had to make a beer run to the 7-11. Came back and told The Wife, "it'd better be 3-2 Bolts when I get down to the basement."

Alas...

I'm frustrated for non game reasons. Well, the dog is nagging me or attention. That's one. The other I can't say here for now.
