Default GDT: Lightning at Canucks

The good news? The team is on the road together and the new additions can gel with the regulars...

The bad news? We're facing Roberto Luongo tonight. Should be a goalies duel if Holmqvist (or Denis?) show up.

Again, I'm nervous about this game. Vancouver is hot, and Luongo is just scary. Don't like having to face him, even if it is just once a year. You never know, we could catch him on an off-night, and maybe the MVP line will take off again. Keeping my fingers crossed.

very important game.... Bolts need to break out of the Nucks defensive style hockey. It's important to score the first goal and make them play our game.

There are tons of reasons to get frustrated with Luongo but I always find games he's playing us as thrilling in an overall hockey sense. Devoid of the root-root-root fan stuff...

Well, that was a pretty pathetic effort. Glad I went to bed early. This is probably the worst time of year to get stuck in a free fall. They better get their act together for tonight - the playoffs are still a month away, boys, and there is NO GUARANTEE that you will be in them!!

Geez, you'd think they would have figured that out already . . .

That was about as thrilling as a pre-game warm up sadly.

The good news is the Lightning should have plenty of energy left for tonight considering how little they tried against the Canucks.

Ugly, Ugly, Ugly.

Good to see in the papers today that Feaster is no longer negotiating with Holmqvist until the summer "to see how the season plays out."

Shoulda' jumped on that contract early Johan.

No kidding. He shouldn't get any more than Norenna did.

How have the guys in Springfield looked? Ramo and Boutin?

I don't mean to treat Johan like a flavor-of-the-month to be discarded, but I wouldn't be surprised if the contract talk is what's effecting his game. Or what had been.

If only there was a web site that kept track of all Lightning prospects - daily.

Tee hee.

Ramo was an AHL all-star, the only one for SF, and it was well deserved. He's easily been their MVP all year. He was injured in November or December and all Boutin did was win AHL Goaltender of the Month.

Ramo could be ready by next season, but his shoulders won't be very big - so I don't think he could be the play every night No.1.

Lately SF has been awful and word from the reporters up there is it could be a whole lot worse if not for Ramo.

TB still has Koshechkin (Russian Super League) and Helenius (will need a lot more time after missing most of this year) overseas, too.
