Default 3 to go...

The sub sub sub topic on Vinny Lecavalier's goal surge is the fact he (and Martin St. Louis) are chasing the ghost of TB Lightning past in Brian Bradley's single season goal total (42 -- which happens to be the meaning of everything ).

2 goals tonight gives Saint Vincenzo 39 on the season... And old man Bradley ready to abdicate his throne.

One to tie, 2 to pass Bradley.

And Marty is not far behind. 4 to tie, 5 to pass.

The goal that tied it was absolutely phenomenal.

To stay on his skates, not lose, and STILL fire the puck THAT hard. Man.. Not many that could even attempt that let alone pot it.

Marty's #39 was pretty sweet too... But pales to Vinny doing what he did short handed.

And it just lends even more to the fact that the Vinny and Marty should never again be split up.

I understand the concept of splitting them up to have your 2 best players on different lines to make D match ups more of a challenge. Also, trying to get Brad going ect....

But Vinny and Marty, given time, always seem to find a way to break through. Brad is going fine, I'm thinking after the shoot out, we put our newest sniper, Nasty, on his wing and things wil be just fine!!!

You know, tryig Nick on the 2nd line doesn't exactly seem like a bad idea... I have only thought ahead to next season when Artyukhin is supposed to be back, and how HE will probably get a shot there...

All joking aside, as much as I like Perrin, I think a player like Nick on Brads wing, while he may not pile up Modin numbers, could help give Brad and Feds more time and space (that we hear so much about) and could possibly chip in a goal or two along the way....

That also allow Perrin to play on the 3rd line where I think he is much more suited for at this level.

I was never joking I agree with you completely...

I guess it does get complicated when you look at next year. Feds is an UFA and likely to leave -- I just don't see him flashing as much heart as he used to. I don't know if he feels left out or what.

But I digress. THe fact is a more physical player on Brad's wing would be a welcome addition.

Bring back the joking (somewhat) I think every time Feds comes down the wing and gets in position and DOESN'T use that amazing wrist shot of his, in a Miracles type move, Tots makes Feds drop and give him 20!!!!!

When Vinny loses faceoffs in practice (several in a row) John does the exact same thing -- demands pushups.
So Vinny is one away from 50... I was actually almost rooting against him in the Islanders game simply because I wanted to see scoring coming from elsewhere. Same thing last night with the Devils in town. Thankfully, Marty broke his rut and notched 40/41.

Lets hope that mini skid was just a speed bump for this team. Marty is 1 away from Bradley now. I wanna see him surpass him.
