Hello,
My name is Bob Ngo and I am a PhD Candidate in the department of Sociology at the University of California - Santa Barbara. I am posting because my I am doing my dissertation on the Sabermetric movement in baseball as a cultural phenomenon. As part of my research, I would like to interview 20-30 people who consider themselves stats geeks. Specifically, I would like to talk to people who spend some of their leisure time analyzing, creating, and writing about baseball statistics. I will be attending the SABR convention in St. Louis this summer and I would like to try and talk to as many people as possible there, but if that does not work out for any reason, I would like to conduct phone interviews. If you are interested in being interviewed, please contact me. You can email me at bobngo@gmail.com, reply to this post, or PM me. Of course, if you are just interested in my research, I'm happy to talk to you about it. Also, if you know anyone who would be a good person to talk to, I'd be appreciative of any names you could send me. For more information on my project, you can go to the website that I have set up about it at Bob Ngo's Dissertation Home Page. I look forward to meeting all of you. Thanks! ![]() |
