Probables: Braden Looper vs Bronson Arroyo @ 1PM on SportsSouth.
Arroyo has been tough on us. I don't have this one on TV. Other 1PM games are Pirates at Brewers and Astros at Cubs. Every day is a big day. Today's preview. FOX Sports on MSN - MLB - Game Trax The lineups should be here before game time. The Official Site of The St. Louis Cardinals: Homepage STLtoday - Sports Standings The Official Site of Major League Baseball: Standings: Regular Season Standings All teams forums. http://www.fanhome.com/forums/3_baseball Additions and corrections are appreciated. Thank you. |

Their 6th
Out to LF. Out 1B. GO to SS. Our 6th. Bronson Arroyo, the first pitcher in history completely untouchable by mortal man Ankiel-HOME RUN!!! Ludwick-double to LF. Edmonds-out to RF.Duncan-K. Miles-RBI double. Bennett-walk. Looper-K We lead, 2-0. We know the Cardinals don't have any players. ESPN geniuses broadcast that all the rest of the hours that they are not slobbering on their chin and shirt for the damyankees and TBS sitcom Braves. Their 8th. Franklin pitching.
Out to SS. Single to CF. Double for Hamilton. RBI single. They're killing Franklin and us. Tyler Johnson is warmed up. Griffey still gets a shot at Franklin. *">K<"* Phillips ( the guy who thinks runners shouldn't run to 2B because HE is there) K!!! We lead 3-1. The Cubs trail and Brewers lead. Cards sweep but it did get scary in the 9th. Ankiel did it all today. A HR, a sac fly and a gret catch in the 9th.
I'm trying to keep up on the other games and I'll update them with the recap in a few minutes. |

Right now, Milw came from behind and they're leading Pitts 7-4 with one out in the top of the 9th. Houston is leading at Chicago 5-4 in the top of the 8th.
The Cards had 8 hits. LUDWICK had 2 doubles. He scored on a double by Miles. Ankiel hit his 6th HR. The star of the offensive game was Ryan. He had 2 hits. His 2nd one was the game winning run. Eck followed Ryan's hit with a swing that protected Brendan and got him to 2nd. Ryan stole 3rd when the pitcher, Bray, wasn't paying attention to him. He scored on a sac fly by Ankiel. Bennett and Eck had the other 2 hits. Loop was fantastic again. Another quality start and he's 12-10. He went 7 innings giving up 4 hits with 3 Ks. The BP was not up to their usual standards. Franklin went 1 inning giving up 1 run on 3 hits with 2 Ks. He got his 24th save and his ERA stands at 1.97. Izzy got his 28th save but it wasn't without drama. It went like this. Dunn led off with a single. Hatteberg singled and Dunn went to 3rd. Hopper hit a sac fly scoring Dunn. Valentin hit a gapper that Ankiel tracked down with a nice catch but he didn't realize that there was only one out. Edmonds and the bench were yelling for him to get the ball back in. Luckily, his reputation preceeds and the runner was afraid to advance. Gonzalez hit a grounder to Bredan for a force out at 2nd to end it. Izzy gave up 1 run on 2 hits. His ERA is 1,77 As I was posting this, Milw won at Pitts 7-4. I'll check on the Cubs game and come back when it's over. |
