I am scheduled in the hospital for medical treatment at 8AM in the morning, likely for 2 or 3 days. It is considered minor treatment. I have a laptop computer. I am considering taking it with me. I don't know how my posting will be after today. Maybe everybody will get a break from me. On the other hand, if things go fine as expected, I should be back here bothering everybody again, soon. Be forewarned.
Probables: Adam Wainwright vs Jo-Jo Reyes ( 22 yo LHP) @ 1PM. Shannon audio. Video is on the sitcom channel. That is where the braves organization is. Leslie Neilson may revive his moonwalking homeplate calls any time. Only the damyankees are worse (as usual personal opinion). Today's preview FOX Sports on MSN - MLB - Game Trax AccuWeather.com - Saint Louis, MO - Weather Forecast - Local Weather Forecasts The Official Site of The St. Louis Cardinals: Homepage STLtoday - Sports Standings The Official Site of Major League Baseball: Standings: Regular Season Standings All teams forums. http://www.fanhome.com/forums/3_baseball Additions and corrections are appreciated. Thank you. Last edited by Coop; August 26th, 2007 at 10:21 AM. |

Cards win it 4-1. Very important win with the Cubs and Milw having later starts. Wainwright has taken the role of ace. Another 7 inning quality start. Franklin and Izzy nail it down. Back with the recap in a few minutes.

Cards take the series after losing the 1st game to Smoltz. The 5th inning was a charm again.
The cards had only 8 hits today. Encarnacion had 2 with a HR and LUDWICK had 2 with a double. Yadi doubled to start the scoring in the 6th. LUDWICK came around to score from 1st. Yadi advanced on a sac bunt and scored on an error by Wooward. That's all the Cards would need but they taked on another on a single by Taguchi and later Encarnacion homered for the final run. Albert and Ryan had the other 2 singles. Wainwright did another great job. He is 12-9. He went 7 innings giving up 1 run on 6 hits with 1 BB and 5 Ks. His ERA is 3.86. Franklin got his 22nd hold. He went 1 inning giving up 1 hit with a K. His ERA is 1.92. Izzy got his 27th save. He pitched a perfect 9th. Still want to trade him? 5 saves in his last 5 chances with 1 being a 2 inning job. Where would the Cards be without him? His ERA is now 1.50. That's it for now. Next stop Houston. The matchups will be Looper vs. Williams, Wells vs Oswalt and Pineiro vs Albers starting on Tues night. I'll be back if we get good news on Milw and Chi. Right now, it isn't. Milw is winning at SF 4-1 in the bottom of the 4th and Chi is leading at Arizona 3-1 in the bottom of the 2nd. See ya later. |

Thanks for the help. I had to go shopping and just got back. Indeed, Milw a nd Chi lost. We are 2 games out of 1st (only 1 in the loss column) and 1/2 game out of 2nd (1 ahead in the loss column). We are 1 game under .500. Ehere are 35 game left in the season. The only opponents outside our division are Arizona (3), Phila (3) and the Mutts (1). While we are playing the Stros, Milw and Chi will face off. It could be a very important week for the Cards. See ya later.
