As Coop noted above, Mark Mulder joins the Palm Beach Cardnals today to start his rehab assignment. Not sure whether he'll start or not. Brad Furnish is scheduled to start. Probably Mulder will start and Furnish will relieve him after Mulder hits his pitch count limit.

Mark McCormick, who had surgery on his right shoulder last year, made a rehab start yesterday for the GCL Cardinals. 1 IP, 0 H, 1 K.

Scout.com reported awhile back that one of my top 40 Cardinals prospects, Wilmer Alvarado, had been released. However, Baseball America is reporting that he has only been suspended. I'll try to get ahold of John Vuch with the Cardinals to find out the situation.

ick. Mulder only completed one and a third inning.
He gave up 3 hits, 1 walk, no K's, for 4 runs (only 1 earned. Must've been some key errors in there.)

Eye witness reports would be helpful.

I just read an eye witness report at scout.com. The poster said that Mark looked great in the 1st inning. The HP ump refused to call an inside strike. An error on a DP ball led to a bases loaded situation and Mulder came out for Furnish who allowed the runs to score. Mark was on a 45 pitch count and he had thrown 40 when he left. Doesn't sound nearly as bad as his line would indicate.
