Proposed Trade....

....with the Tigers....(Info. from another forum)

Cards would receive: Marcus Thames and Mike Marouth(LHP)
Tigers would get: Braden Looper and our favorite Juan Encarnacion

If true, I would be very pleased with this deal....we do need to check out how Marouth has recovered from his elbow surgery, which I'm sure would be done.

Are there any legs to this rumor?

I don't know much about Thames or Maroth, but their stats don't impress me all that much. Sounds like a salary dump, but that is ok because Encarnacion and Looper didn't impress me all that much this past year. If this has any truth to it, then I have to assume that Walt is doing it to set up for a bigger deal (be it a big free agent signing or a trade....). Of course this is all just IMHO.

Or it could be part of a much larger trade. Maybe a 3 team trade?

But, more than likely, just a rumor that someone started on the 'net. Boy, does that surprise anyone?
