Default St Louis Gets 2009 All-Star Game

Quote:
Commissioner Bud Selig announced tonight at the 49th annual dinner hosted by the St. Louis chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America that St. Louis will host the 2009 All Star Game.

"There can't be a better baseball town in America," Selig said.

The decision, which was expected, gives St. Louis its first baseball All-Star game since 1966. The old Busch Stadium hosted the Midsummer Classic that year.

I worked at KJR when Seattle hosted the 2001 AllStar Game. One of the most amazing experiences of my life. I still have a ton of schwag, and some great memories. FanFest was done so very well. Personally I met Neyer face to face and spend almost two hours talking about how leadoff hitters should be judged.

Other great memories were also focused on face-to-face meetings with people who I had been talking with on the phone for almost three years.

I was just wondering what to do with the limited edition baseball given to media members at the event.

Its about time! It has been WAY too long in coming. Some cities have had the ASG twice since we've last had it!
