When I look at the Cards' lineup, I'm almost totally satisfied. The only thing I'd like to see is Encarnacion replaced by a RF with a great arm that hits lefty and would be great in the #2 slot ... hmm ... high avg. guy with good OBP ... hmmm ... Wouldn't Ichiro be a nice fit in the #2 slot for this team? Eck, Ichiro, Pujols, Edmonds, Rolen, Duncan/So, Molina, Kennedy ... not a bad order, with full L/R functionality.

Knowing this is not a serious rumor, nor suggesting that the Mariners would ever really part with him, what would you guys offer (with some degree of reality thrown in), in addition to Encarnacion, to try to pry Ichiro from the M's? Would you add Schu, J-Rod, Lambert, Perez? Who, exactly, would you part with?

Boy I would love to have Ichiro. Bad news is that he'll be a FA next year.....

It would cost a Wainwright/Reyes and more....

Kods, you're probably right ... which is why I'm certain it won't happen -- Ichiro doesn't have enough future with us to surrender both now and the future.

The question was more of how much of the future you would offer. Perez and Lambert? Rasmus? McCormack? Pomeranz?
