Default Zito to Giants

Whew! Glad that's over. Now maybe we can sign Mulder and/or Weaver.

Zito gets $18M/year. I hope he bombs in the National League!

ESPN.com - MLB - Sources: Zito agrees to seven-year deal with Giants

A seven year deal....Geez! How stupid can a GM get? I don't care who the pitcher is. Seven years is CRAZY. I get the feeling that they are going to regret this big time. Furthermore, in my mind, Zito is nothing more than a great number 2 starter which makes this deal look even more insane.

Thank goodness we have a smart GM...

My word....things have truly gotten out of hand....

If someone like Zito gets this much dinero what does one think a Pujols should get?....priceless?....

Geez ... 7 years is crazy ... $18 mil for a pitcher who is not even top five in his league -- that's crazy ...

Where did all the common sense go?

Thank God Carp signed early for sane money! I just hope this insanity doesn't drive Weaver or Mulder's demands into the crazy places.

Better the Giants than the Cards. What's the odds of him completing the contract without a serious arm injury?

Lot of risk involved for the Giants if he can't deliver.
