The Cards had 18 hits (6 off of Nobraino in 1 2/3 innings). Kennedy enhanced his trade value with 4 including a double and Grand Salami. Ludwick had 2 with his 34th HR. He now has 34 HRs and 103 RBIs. He has also scored over 100 runs. LaRue had 2 with a double and Lopez had 2 singles. Lopez is batting .265 which is about 30 points higher than when they signed him. Miles and Schu each had a double and Albert, Barton, Johnson, Stavinoha, Izturis and Barden each had a single. Kennedy and Johnson again.
Wainwright is 10-3. He needed 107 pitches to get through 5. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits with 3 BBs and 5 Ks. Kinney pitched a perfect 6th with 2 Ks. Jimenez went 2 2/3 innings giving up 4 runs on 5 hits with 3 BBs and 2 Ks. I'm not a Jimenez fan but to be fair, he was in there to eat innings and the bulk of the scoring came after he had thrown over 40 pitches. Villone came in to end the threat in the 9th by striking out Reed Johnson. Good game all around. Tomorrow, it's proud papa Pineiro (his wife gave birth to twin boys) Vs Lilly. Right handed lineup expected. The game is on Fox. See ya later. |
