Cardinals don't have the talent to sustain hot start
There are few on it you would want for your team other than Albert Pujols.
Heck, there might be no one on it you could name other than Albert Pujols.

Additions and corrections are appreciated.

I've had no problems with the Post site today.

Albert comes into tonight's game with 299 career HR's. I'll be bringing my glove out to the bleachers tonight. The gentleman who sits in front of me was lucky to get Alberts 200th HR ball. Hopefully, we'll keep # 300 in our section all so.

Before going back out, I just went there. I did not get that problem
I did not make any changes. This morning it happened over and over.
I restarted and did not go back tp get that same warning again.
That happened 4 times and I couldn't delete. I restarted my computer to escape.

Cards press pass notes show that Thompson has been brought up and Stavinoha sent to Memphis. 13 pitchers/12 position players at the big league level.

Cards need Lohse to go deep into the game tonight to give the BP some rest.

Don't give up on Mulder yet. He gave up a couple of hits in the 9th but they were not solidly hit. He did a good job and he looked very good.
Cards win 7-1 on a great start by Lohse- our 1st 10 game winner. Anyone want to question the signing now.
Back with the recap in a few minutes.

You have got to be impressed by this team and I stress team. They go into a stretch of 52 games with only 19 at home. They lose Yadi, Albert, Flores and Izturis added to those already on the DL. They have to face Boston, Detroit and a reinvigorated KC in interleague play. Yet, when all is said and done, they are still just 2 1/2 games out of 1st place-exactly where they started. They are once again 12 games over .500 for the 2nd best record in the NL and they lead in the WC. What a great time for the offense to start coming alive. They end up 15-12 in June. If they play .500 ball the rest of the way, they wil win 87 games. If they continue at 12 games over, they will win 93 and I think that that will be enough to take the division. Very promising but that wasn't all that was promising tonight.
The Cards had 10 hits. Miles had another 3 hit game. He is hitting .328. Keep complaining. Glaus had 2 with a double and Albert had 2 singles. Here's the best news. Duncan had his 1st HR since May 16th and though Ankiel only had 1 hit, he drew 2 BBs. Yadi had the other hit.
After a bad start last time out, Lohse rebounded. I was concerned that he threw 61 pitchs in the 1st 3 innings but he was able to go 7 and give a much needed rest to the BP. Kyle is our 1st 10 game winner. He's 10-2. In the 7 innings he gave up 1 run (unearned) on 5 hits with 2 BBs and 4 Ks. His ERA is down to 3.67. When we lost Carp, Wainwright stepped up and now, with Wainwright down, Lohse has stepped up. He would be an ace on any staff and he could go to the All-Star game. Villone pitched the 8th. He gave up a BB and he had 2 Ks. And the best of the best, Mark Mulder came back tonight. He was throwing at 89-91 MPH and looked great. Forget the numbers. He gave up 2 hits and Kd 1 but those hits were bloop singles and anyone but Duncan would have caught one of them. Way to go and WELCOME BACK MARK! As Uncle Walt used to say, how many teams can trade for Mulder, Wainwright and Carpenter at the trade deadline and give no one up? Man. Carp, Wainwright, Mukler and Lohse. Then chose between Pineiro, Wellemeyer, Looper, Boggs and Reyes. Not many teams have that kind of problem and with the offense picking up steam, we will not have a bunch of holes to fill. If you're a Cardinal fan, you've got to love it.
Tomorow night, it's Wellemeyer Vs. Armas.
Don't miss Coop's minor league thread for all of the Baby Bird's results.
See ya later.
