Springfield's game notes had McCormick listed as Monday's starter - making me think he was coming off the DL - that looks to be mistaken.

McCormick with his stuff - always gave me the impression that if healthy he could at a min. be a middle reliver in the majors. I think it is approaching the time when he returns - this year or if he choices another surgery next year - to make that move to the pen.

He was consistently in the mid 90's before his last surgery - the article made it sound like the game he hit 93 was a big deal this year. Had note realized he had not regained his velocity.

On the QC match up today - is this Beavan the HS pitcher that the cards had their eyes on taking in the 2007 draft. I believe the message board chatter was that Texas choice the kid right by for the cards picked Kozma.

Phelps 1B
Freese 3B
Washington 2B

Thompson may be in St. Louis?

Parisi was the winner 3-2.

Springfield wins it in the 10th, 1-0.

Jesse Todd's stock continues to rise. He goes 8 innings, giving up 0 runs and only allowing 2 H & 2 BB's. Plus, he mowed down 10 batters with K's.

In addition, this past week Todd was named to the US Team in the Futures Game coming up at the MLB All-Star Break. The game will be played at Yankee Stadium.

He'll be joined by Memphis C, Bryan Anderson on the US Team. They'll be opposing Memphis P Jaime Garcia, who'll suit up for the World Team.

This will be the first time, that I can remember, 3 Cards players playing in the Futures Game.
