Cardinals don't have the talent to sustain hot start
There are few on it you would want for your team other than Albert Pujols.
Heck, there might be no one on it you could name other than Albert Pujols.

Additions and corrections are appreciated.

Molina was just hurt big time. He was taken off the field on a stretcher.

I hope Yadi is OK, he tick a huge hit yet made a great play at the same time. I'm amazed he was able to hold on to the ball. Please be OK Yadi!!!

Report on yadi, he didn't lose consciousness and they have taken him to a hospital to examine him further for his neck and back pain. Seemed like a pretty positive report but we'll know more after they examine him.

Wow! Thanks Philly for giving us the game on two identical errors! I'm sure Duncan knew that was gonna happen so that's why he hit a ground ball to the right. Genius!

Anyway, pretty impressive that the Cards come back to win the series after that first game.

Once again, the Cards win and lose in the same game. The final was 7-6 good guys but we'll have to wait for the results on Yadi.
Back with the recap in a few minutes.

Nice "gift" on Father's Day....gotta have some luck and help along the way....I hope that Ewt has an update on Yadi....If Duncan's throw had been on the 3rd base side of the plate instead of to the first base side this may not have happened, although the baserunner would have barrelled into Yadi either way....Duncan did make the right play....

Thankfully Yadi has use of his extremeties...

A bittersweet victory for the Cards. After losing 20-2, they come back to take the series. Gotta love it.
It looks like this was designed to be a BP game from the getgo. I would think that Boggs will be sent back to Memphis and a position player brought up. Free Cody Haerther and you may want to think twice about Bryan Anderson. More about that later.
The hero in the game was Yadi. By taking the hit, he saved the game. Keep your fingers crossed that he won't be out for long.
The Cards had 10 hits. Schu had a double and HR. Ank had a double and triple. Glaus had a single and HR. Ludwick had a double and Miles, Loop and Izturis had a single each. Duncan was 0-5 but he reached twice on error. The last one brought home the winning run.
Boggs made a valiant effort against a heavy hitting team. It almost felt like Miles was on the mound. He went 4 1/3 innings giving up 4 runs on 6 hits with 2 BBs and 3 Ks. McClellan went 1 2/3 innings giving up 2 hits with 1 BB and 4 Ks. His ERA is 2.27. Perez got his 5th hold. He went 1 2/3 innings giving up 2 runs on 1 hit with 2 BBs and 3 Ks. His ERA is 2.77. Both runs scored on walks by Flores and Springer after Perez left the game with men on 1st and 3rd and 2 outs. Flores gave up 2 walks. Springer got his 1st blown save. He went 1/3 of an inning giving up a BB with a K. Franklin took the ball for his 3rd day in a row. He went 1 inning giving up 2 hits. His ERA is down to 2.84. Anthony got the win in his return from exile. He is 2-1 after pitching a perfect 10th. There is a story on Wellemeyer at the official website in which he says that he thinks that he'll make his next start but his description of his injury leaves it very much in doubt. I would think that if he can't go, Anthony will get his chance at redemption.
I'm going to close this recap and post some thoughts about yesterday's game at Round Rock on Coop's minor league thread.
Tomorrow is a welcome off day to regroup before going to KC on Tuesday. The matchup will be Loop vs. Davies.
See ya later.
