The boxscore in Round Rock hung up.
Memphis got a good lead, but they barely hung on for a 11-9 win.

Looks like Quad Cities lost 8-6.

The VSL Cardinals won 8-7.

No walks from Mulder and Clement. Both went 5 innings, both struck 3 batters out. Clement allowed 3 runs though. Sounds good.

Thoughts about the game at Round Rock. The offense was terrific. Rasmus is on fire. He's getting close. Forget the 1st 2 months of the season. He looked good. Stavinoha, Joey Bombs, Hoffpauir and Barden- all looked good. I'd love to see Barden get a shot at some point. He made several outstanding plays at SS. I know that Hoff has gotten a bad rep at 2nd but he made a play that was almost a duplicate of the one Matsui made in the 9th at Houston last Sunday. In general, the D was excellent but as I mention in the major league thread you may want to think twice about Anderson. His mental lapse almost cost memphis the game and definately threw Castellanos out of whack. After striking out a batter for the 3rd out on a dropped 3rd strike, Anderson rolled the ball back to the pitchers mound with everyone walking off the field except the runner who made it safely to 1st. It took 2 more batters to get out of the inning and Hugo was never the same. To his credit, Anderson did get a runner who tried to advance to 3rd on a steal. Still not major league ready.
The pitching was awful top to bottom. Huckleberry never hit 90 MPH. He was hit all night long and only the defense saved him from giving up more than 4 runs. I don't think you want to see Thompson, Castellanos, Ron Flores or Anderson in St L anytime soon. The only saving factor was that Memphis won 11-9 after being up 10-2 at one point. I spoke to Cody Haerther briefly. I told him that I wouldn't be there tonight but I would try to see the final game. Unfortunately, Round Rock will have a lefty going and Cody probably won't be in the lineup. I hate missing the opportunity to see Cody and Jamie Garcia. The trials and tribulations of a baseball fan. Oh well.
See ya alter.
