Cardinals don't have the talent to sustain hot start
There are few on it you would want for your team other than Albert Pujols.
Heck, there might be no one on it you could name other than Albert Pujols.

Additions and corrections are appreciated.

If Braden Looper leaves the Cardinals, he may have an experience like Jeff Weaver.
Jeff Weaver isn't even winning in AAA.

Lineups and boxscore should be here by game time.

kinda what i was thinking if hes gonna start he better hope the cards want him back if not he maybe headed back to the pen.I know he was good in relief before he got here but starting in a hostile home enviroment may not be loopers cup of tea.Tony and dave seem to have there "voodoo curse" working on weaver and i dont think Braden whats to feel the wrath of the little "voodoo" dolls Tony has hidin in his desk

i'm here, Coop.
Watching it also.

Hoping Wainwright gets out of the 6th -- allowed 2, 2-out hits.

0-2 on former Card prospect Jack Wilson.
1-2, curve outside
2-2, fb high outside
Strike 3 yeah!

Wainwright's suddenly lost control here in the 7th.
Bases loaded, 2 out.
Visit to the mound.
My guess is, this is his last hitter -- Michaels.

PH grand slam, ties the game.

ugh

Wainwright still in, gets the 3rd out on a 4-3.

What a revoltin' development that was.
Six innings of work down the tubes on one swing.

Top 7th: Pittsburgh
- R. Ludwick in left field
- S. Schumaker in center field
- F. Sanchez grounded out to third
*- J. Bay ground rule double to deep left center
*- X. Nady walked
- A. LaRoche flied out to left
- J. Bay to third, X. Nady to second on passed ball
*- J. Bautista walked
- J. Michaels hit for R. Chavez

- J. Michaels homered to deep left, Sometimes called a grand salami.
Not so grand for us.

X. Nady, J. Bay and J. Bautista scored
- C. Gomez hit for T. Gorzelanny
- C. Gomez grounded out to second

4 runs, 2 hits, 0 errors
Pittsburgh 4, St. Louis 4

I miss the good old days when the Pirates were a fun team to play against (i.e. utterly dominate).

Wainwright just suddenly lost control there. Personally, I would have brought in a new pitcher once he loaded the bases (but then again there is that 20/20 hindsight thing).

I'm a little surprised Wainwright is starting the 8th.
I guess TLR wants him to have a chance to win.
... and still a relatively low pitch count.
