Kyle McClellan came in.
He is having trouble. The pitcher's mound is all mud. They have to keep working with it. Was that Pineiro's problem? Top 6th: Pittsburgh - K. McClellan relieved J. Pineiro - X. Nady popped out to second - D. Mientkiewicz walked - R. Paulino struck out swinging - C. Gomez singled to right, D. Mientkiewicz to second - J. Bautista hit for F. Osoria - D. Mientkiewicz to third, C. Gomez to second on wild pitch - J. Bautista struck out looking (edit - Ump Marty Foster missed the first perfect strike 3 that curved out after it passed the plate. Kyle had to throw another perfect strike 3.) 0 runs, 1 hits, 0 errors Pittsburgh 4, St. Louis 5 Last edited by Coop; 05-15-2008 at 02:57 PM. |

Top 7th: Pittsburgh
- F. Sanchez lined out to shallow center - R. Flores relieved K. McClellan - N. McLouth walked - J. Michaels struck out looking, N. McLouth stole second (He came off the base with the tag on him. Ump missed it.) - A. LaRoche walked - N. McLouth to third on wild pitch - X. Nady grounded out to shortstop 0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors Pittsburgh 4, St. Louis 5 Flores did a fine job slogging in the quickmud. The game goes on in the rain. They are waiting for some Pirates runs first. Stretch time. Or time to go and stand by a heater. Last edited by Coop; 05-15-2008 at 03:24 PM. |

Well that....sucks. Izzy needs to head down to the minors to work out whatever is wrong with him. We can't afford to let him pitch an any situation that is anywhere near close.
On another note, what is with the hitting? Way to many runners left on recently. |

And those super human Pirates just keep piling on.
How about that play by Ryan sliding in the slick grass! Eye popping. I'm sure we won't have any problem scoring 7 runs in the bottom of the 9th. Almost everybody has left, so they will miss the great come from behind victory. Last edited by Coop; 05-15-2008 at 04:24 PM. |

Got back in time to see Izzy give the game away....then Villone follow suit....Perhaps the Cubs would like to have these guys as well....
Izzy needs to be DL'd....and last night he was very fortunate....his location was not good....his cutter has stopped cutting....and I would have thought it was known that he should never be used 2 days in a row.... |

Yan. Esteban Yan. Yams are often enjoyed at Thanksgiving meals.
I remember them. Especially Yan. The BP is really stinking it up. Couple that with an inability to string consecutive hits together (i.e. too many of LOB), and this team is gonna continue to slide down down down in the standings. Funny how we thought the starting pitching was gonna be the question mark, and it's been the most solid of the 3 aspects of the game. |
