I see that after TBS cancelled the sitcom Braves telecasts, Dish only
carries the Braves. No way I want to watch any games on Dish, unless they are playing the Cardinals. NO BASEBALL AVAILABLE AT ALL. This is injury to insult. They are pooping on my head and dropping the commode on top. It is now official, I hate the Braves EVEN more than both New Yawk Pond Scums. Last edited by Coop; April 2nd, 2008 at 06:27 PM. |

A New year and another lost post. Some things never change.
Welcome to Ewt's 1st winning post of the year. Hopefully, it will be one of many. Ank was the star of the game. He made a fantastic catch and hit his 1st HR of the year. He was 3-4 with a couple of singles. Wellemeyer kept the Cards in the game. He threw a lot of pitches but came up with the big one when he needed it. McClellan was in his 2nd game. He gave up his 1st run but it could have been ruked unearned because of an error by Ank. unfortunately, earned run. Springer had trouble throwing 2 days in a row but he Kd Helton to end the game. Back with the happy recap later. |

The Cards had 11 hits. Ludwick had 3 with a double and triple. He had 3 RBIs. Ankiel had 2 singles and a solo HR. Albert was on base all 5 times he batted. 2 singles and 3 BBs. Rico got a clutch triple to knock in a run. Yadi and Kennedy had the other 2 hits.
Wellemeyer went 5 innings. He is 1-0. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits with 3 BBs and 6 Ks. He threw 95 pitches. McClellan got his 2nd hold. He went 2 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits with a K. Villone got his 1st hold for striking out Helton. Franklin got a hold but he looked terrible. He went 2/3 of an inning giving up 1 run on 2 hits. Springer went 1 inning. He struggled at the start but only gave up a hit and a BB and ended it with a K of Helton. To be fair, at 39 YO, it isn't a good idea to use Russ on back to back days. He got the call in a rush because Reyes couldn't get ready to come in. He has a long loosening up process to be able to pitch. Some say that it's mental but it's the main reason that TLR and Dunc did not want to keep him on the roster as a reliever. That's about it for our 1st win. Tomorrow, at Noon, it's Huckleberry vs. Jimenez. It will be a big challenge for the start of the season. I have a feeling that Albert and Yadi will be rested and we won't have much of a BP available. Flores and Reyes were the only 2 that weren't used tonight. I know that I didn't count Izzy but he warmed up extensively after appearing last night. I doubt that they'll call on him. See ys later. |
