Default Duncan vs Slaten and KFNS

STLtoday - Cards coach contemplates action vs. Slaten, KFNS

Sounds like these two guys have no use for each other what so ever.Kinda funny though duncan just straight up tells slaten how he feels

bubby - do you live in the STL area? Not many people have much use for Slaten and his ops. How he stays on the air is beyond me.

No unfortunatly i live in cubbie country about 90 miles west or so just follow my team as much as possible through the net thank god for direct tv and Fox sports midwest or else i might 've had to become a cubbie fan .By living were i do Fox Sports MIdwest is considered one of my home team stations so during the baseball season i get to see all the games televised on there .I was born in Popular Bluff MO and lived in Bernie MO for several years before moving here to deal with family issues. Most of my family are cubs fan so i hear it all from them but not to much because i usually just have to say one word and the become very quiet That word being "1908" and they become .Followed the cards since i could walk remember many of days as a kid carrying around my little transistor radio around listening to The Great Mr Buck call the games I miss that . Never have heard Slaten speak but just from what ive read around the net and heard the little tidbits from the others I have formed the opinion that I have no use for him as well as many in his field (the local sports radio guys) i myself listen to them outta Chicago and some of those guys are just as bad if not worse than one Mr Slaten.

The Bootheel, eh. We were once neighbor's. I spent 4-1/2 years going to SEMO in Cape Girardeau. Been to PB several times to watch high school football back in the '70's when we played the PB high school team. One year they had a great running back by the name of Leroy Moss. He ended up at Oklahoma IIRC.

Do you ever make it down for Cards games during the season or do you go to Wrigley to get your Cardinal fix?

IMHO, the quality of broadcasting at KFNS just went up. Addition by way of subtraction.

Slaten needs to move to another market. His schtick is getting really old here in STL land.

Slaten said the station was reacting to pressure from the Cardinals, who he said used this incident as an excuse to remove a voice from the local airwaves that often is critical of the team.

"This is a vindictive and retaliatory practice by the Cardinals that has gotten me fired,'' Slaten said. "The Cardinals are at the very root of this, and 590 has thrown me under the bus to curry favor with the Cardinals.’’
What an arrogant, self-centered "idiot" - to use one of Slaten's own favorite words.

Never listened to him as i said but from what i've read this guy is a first class jerk and should've never been on the radio to begin with given all his past "incidents"
