Name The Player Bio Forum Contest - And the Winner is YadiFan

We're about ready to start an additional forum here at FanHome for Cardinal fans.

The board will be a sub-forum to the current Cardinal board. The plan is to list each player in the Cardinal organization via a player-named thread. You, the fan, will be asked to help contribute info on him - things like his annual stats, vitals - height, weight, throws/bats, year signed, date drafted - story links, contract figures by year, etc, etc.

We hope to build the forum in such a way that you'll be able to drop by at any time and get information on your favorite player, prospect, etc. It will be a unique board in the Cardinal Nation. No one has attempted anything like it to my knowledge.

Be part of a historic effort among fans of the Cardinal Nation.

Now comes the fun part. The naming of the board. Give it some thought and give us your best name for the forum. Post your name on this thread.

ArRedbird, the FanHome management team and myself will select the winning name and place that name on the forum.

And as a bonus - the person submitting the winning name will receive 2 free bleacher seats to a Cardinals game during the 2008 season at Busch Stadium. A list of available games will be supplied to the winner to choose from.

The contest starts right now and will end with the first pitch of the 2008 season - Opening Day vs the Colorado Rockies. Vote now - Vote often. No limit on the amount of names that you can enter.

The new forum is up and running as of this afternoon. I've started adding the 40 man roster to it and plan on working my way thru the rest of the organization over the next few days.

If you want to head on over and start adding info on your favorite player, your more than welcome to do so.

Please do not start any new threads, but add your info to the players thread. ArRedbird and I will start updating the initial thread of each player with the info that you provide.

I've been a long time reader of this board going back to the good old days when Gags, the Bum and SF Bay Redbird were running things. I was the fly on the wall all these years, but it's time to get into the game.

Thought I'd throw my name into the hat for the new forum - Cardinals Bio Central.

When can I collect my tickets? ;-)

Also, a request. Is it possible to get the players listed alphabetically? As it is, there are 2 pages of bio links and it might be easier if it were in alphabetical order, or maybe sorted by position.

Stlkat - It would be nice to do it alpha style, but it's not possible. (at least that I know of). As a post is added, that thread goes to the top of the forum.

The search function here works. So if you want to find a specific player it might be easier using it. Just search only by thread and not by post.

If this takes off we might explore other options.
