Cardinals Vice President for Player Procurement Jeff Luhnow joined Bernie Miklasz and Randy Karraker Tuesday afternoon to talk about the young talent in camp this spring. Among topics discussed were the projected rotations for AAA-Memphis and AA-Springfield, and the play of David Freese, who was traded for Jim Edmonds.
Luhnow said that Mark McCormick is one of the most exciting arms in the Cards' farm system and that if he continues the way he has been playing he will reclaim his status of one of their top prospects. He said that Tyler Greene is recovering well from knee surgery and playing with AA Springfield as their everyday shortstop. The Cards' 2007 #1 draft pick Pete Kozma will likely be the Quad Cities opening day shortstop and has a chance for Palm Beach by the end of the year, according to Luhnow.
