that Benjie Molina replaces Mike Matheny. It sounds as though Mike might not be playing any more. Wouldn't it be sweet to get him here as a bench coach

Friend of mine knows Matheny and says he will not be able to play again. It would be great having him on the Cards coaching staff. Many people in the organization feel he is the finest person (and best leader) the Cards have had in the past 25 years.

Mike Matheny is the kind of man you hope your sons grow to be, or that your daughters marry. There is no more of a classier act, in or out of the game.

The Cardinals should find a spot for him within the organization.....if for no other reason that making a great franchise that much better.

bccran - does Matheny still live here in the off-season?

I think he would be a heck of a pickup for the mgmt. team. You only hear good things about him (just keep the knives away from him ).
