Default Spring Training @ Mets - Game Thread ST #18

March 15. Noon at Port St. Lucie.
Probables: Adam wainwright vs Johan Santana.
I haven't seen a lineup, yet. Maybe shortly.

Boxscores
STLtoday.com - Sports - Stats, Inc.

Joe Mather. Go Joe! Spiezio's replacement.
STLtoday - Sports - Cardinals

Three starters coming around.
The Official Site of The St. Louis Cardinals: News: Rehabbing trio makes steady progress

I wanted Lohse to get a shot. I still hope Tony does give the young guys an honest equal chance. He usually doesn't. I hope none of our guys becomes this year's Kip Wells.

They want Juan Gone to face lefty Santana.
Will he go to Memphis?

1.Skip Schumaker, CF
2.Brian Barton, LF
3.Albert Pujols, 1B
4.Troy Glaus, 3B
5.Ryan Ludwick, RF
6.Yadier Molina, C
7.Brendan Ryan, SS
8.Adam Wainwright, RHP
9.Aaron Miles, 2B

The bench: INF D’Angelo Jimenez, OF Colby Rasmus, 1B Josh Phelps, OF Amaury Marti, OF Joe Mather, INF David Freese. The bullpen: RHP Ryan Franklin (sporting a buzzed, business-like haircut), RHP Hugo Castellanos, RHP Chris Perez, RHP Cliff Politte and — be sure to notice this — RHP Brad Thompson, who is scheduled to throw one inning today.

(This is not a clue that the righty is headed to the bullpen. Quite the contrary: Thompson will start Thursday.)

Pagan singled and stole 2nd in the 2nd. Then error by Barton.
Error by Barton. The boxscore finally caught up.
1-1. Both runs unearned.

The boxscore is showing Barton drove in Schumaker with a triple in the third.
The first earned run. I hope that is right. It sure is confusing.
Glaus 2 K's holding the bat in the cleanup spot.
2-1 Cardinals after 3.

Looks like Adam mowed 'em down again. 4-1 showing after 4.

Santana got us in the 5th.
Glaus 3 K's. Tony, you know he doesn't hit good clean up.
A long season while Tony bats Glaus cleanup.
Rolen wanted to bat fifth. Glaus fifth. No Way!
That's our manager.

Adam got them in the fifth. Oops. Now the show a homer by Casanova. 4-2.

Rincon in for the Mets 6th.

For a short while, it appears our guys are hitting Rincon and have scored.
To be seen.

Double by Ludwick. RBI by Molina. A hit by *RYAN*. I'll get to watch Ryan in Memphis again.
No good deed goes unpunished.
2 RBI double by PH Marti.
3 runs. 7-2.
Diaz in to pitch. Anyway it shows that for this minute.

I think Barton singled in Marti. 8-2.

Wainwright's line
Wainwright 5.0 2 2 1 1 3 1 2.81

Diaz finally ended the inning 8-2.
Glaus's out wasn't a K!

It show that Thompson got them in the 6th. 8-2.

Billy Wagner is in for the 7th.

The linescore completely stopped.

While I'm bored, I'll link Vuck's minor league report from Goold.
STLtoday.com - Bird Land - Blog Archive - Vuch Report: Three for The Show

New Bernie article on Lohse.
STLtoday - Sports - Columnists

I'm looking for recaps.

The linescore finally shows wagner got us out in the 7th.

Delgado homered off Thompson in his 2nd inning.
8-3 after 7 innings.

WGN is showing some green field on their screen.

I think the Mets have Joe Smith is in for the 8th.
He has walked 2.
Runs are showing off Smith
I'm sure this game must be over.
I've been trying to find anything.
Gabe Johnson and Ryan Ludwick may have the RBI's. 10-3.

Cliff Politte in to pitch bottom of 8th.
They are showing 10-3 after 8 complete innings.

They brought Aaron Heilman in for the 9th.

Ryan Franklin came in bottom of 9th.
I'm checking if 10-3 is the final.
