Pitching (?)
Miklasz on Lohse (pitching) STLtoday - Sports - Columnists The Official Site of The St. Louis Cardinals: Homepage Tyler Johnson is still out for a while. The Official Site of The St. Louis Cardinals: News: Johnson won't be ready by Opening Day I'm glad that the young guys are getting some innings, but we sure need some pitching to start this season. I'd even watch David Wells for a couple starts, and I never liked him. I'm not too confident with the middle infield. I don't think Tony will give Brendan Ryan a shot. Another year with all the Memphis players on the field for St. Louis and both teams lose. Last edited by Coop; March 13th, 2008 at 10:32 AM. |

Man, I hate to be so negative in Spring Training, but I am starting to worry about who our 3-4-5 pitchers are going to be. Are we looking at Lohse to be backup for Piniero or is it really Looper?
Wow, lots of runs the last week........ |

I was reading that Dave Duncan has never been this deep in Spring Training before with this many question marks regarding the rotation. YIKES.
Right now I really wish we had paid to keep Jeff Suppan. Yes, what he got from Milwaukee was considerable for an 'average" pitcher, but he's reliable and occasionally throws a gem, too. He would've made a difference for us last year, and a huge difference this year. |
