CARDINALS RETURNING TO HAMMONS FIELD

The Springfield Cardinals and St. Louis Cardinals are thrilled to announce the return of the St. Louis Cardinals to Hammons Field. The St. Louis Cardinals will take on their Double-A affiliate, the Springfield Cardinals, in a pair of games at Hammons Field on Friday, March 28th at 7:10pm and Saturday, March 29th at 1:10pm.

The return of the St. Louis Cardinals to Hammons Field marks their second-ever visit to Springfield and first since Springfield’s inaugural season of 2005.

“We’re ecstatic about another Cardinals versus Cardinals event at Hammons Field”, said Vice President / General Manager Matt Gifford. “We have the best fans in minor league baseball and it’s great that the St. Louis Cardinals are rewarding them for their great support. It’s going to be just as memorable this time around.”

The only way to guarantee a ticket for the Cards vs Cards series is by becoming a Springfield Cardinals Season Ticket Holder. Full Season, Half Season and Quarter Season Ticket packages are now on sale. Current Season Ticket Holders will be receiving information in the mail within the next week.

Individual game tickets for the St. Louis / Springfield series will go on sale at a date yet to be determined.

2008 TEXAS LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME PRESENTED BY GREAT SOUTHERN

Great Southern, one of the founding partners of the Springfield Cardinals since 2005, will be the presenting sponsor of the 2008 Texas League All-Star Game. The event will be held at Hammons Field on Wednesday, June 25th at 7:10pm. It’s the first time that Hammons Field has played host to the annual Texas League “mid-summer classic”, as the best prospects throughout the Texas League will shine on center stage. The 2008 Texas League All-Star logo features the Springfield “S” logo, with a star behind it. The logo also features Hammons Field in the background, along with the Great Southern logo incorporated underneath.

“When we learned that Springfield had been awarded the All-Star Game, we knew we wanted to be involved”, said Great Southern Vice President, Director of Marketing Teresa Chasteen-Calhoun. “We’re delighted to be involved in showcasing our city, Hammons Field and the first class baseball operations here. 2008 is also Great Southern's 85th Anniversary, so we thought it only fitting to combine the two events and have one All-Star "Community" Celebration. We encourage everyone to watch for special bank-sponsored promotions leading up to the game on June 25th.”

CARDINALS CONTINUE TV PARTNERSHIP WITH KY3 / OZARKS CW

The Springfield Cardinals have also announced that KY3 and the Ozarks CW will continue to be the television partner for televised Springfield Cardinals games through 2010. 14 games were televised in 2007, and while this year’s television schedule hasn’t been officially released, the number of games televised should be very similar. In addition to Springfield Cardinals games, KY3 and The Ozarks CW will continue to televise 20-plus St. Louis Cardinals games for the next three years.
