Default Maroth Released

For anyone who hasn't already read this, the Cards gave Mike Maroth his release. I guess that it was inevitable since they can use the roster space and Maroth was eligible for arbitration. Still, I wish that they had been able to keep him to find out if his problems could be fixed in the minors. I'm happy that the experiment only cost us Lambert.
I assume that some team will pay ridiculous dollars to obtain his services. If not, the Cards may offer him a minor league deal. He seems like a good guy and if he straightens out, he certainly fits the type of player that deserves to wear a Cardinal uniform.

Yeah, Ewt, I'm with you.
Soft tossing lefties like Maroth wipe out our team, almost every time.
If they are worthless, why don't we have anybody who can hit them?
Our multi-million dollar batters look pitiful against these guys.
Does Duncan have a clue about that?
