For anyone who hasn't already read this, the Cards gave Mike Maroth his release. I guess that it was inevitable since they can use the roster space and Maroth was eligible for arbitration. Still, I wish that they had been able to keep him to find out if his problems could be fixed in the minors. I'm happy that the experiment only cost us Lambert.
I assume that some team will pay ridiculous dollars to obtain his services. If not, the Cards may offer him a minor league deal. He seems like a good guy and if he straightens out, he certainly fits the type of player that deserves to wear a Cardinal uniform. |

Yeah, Ewt, I'm with you.
Soft tossing lefties like Maroth wipe out our team, almost every time. If they are worthless, why don't we have anybody who can hit them? Our multi-million dollar batters look pitiful against these guys. Does Duncan have a clue about that? |
