This may be a very short thread, but I was just curious about comments.
This topic has been mentioned in lots of threads. Why do we have so many players disabled and hobbled. It is posted in some forums about nothing but the best treatment is provided by major league teams to keep their Millions+ $ players in top shape to play. This seems to be not happening with the team I like. If we had players able to play, Tony might not be so grumpy. Like in the Tony thread, I think he is staying. I think Duncan is staying. I sure hope Walt stays. I think he works miracles. I think he stays. I had been thinking they were all going to Cincinnati. Since I don't travel, I'm not buying tickets in St. Louis, so I don't count at all, but I won't change to another favorite team. I just hope the things they do nare the things that work to win the championships. That is where the fun is. I remember when Johnny Keene went to the young players in my favorite season, 1964. I remember great years with a set lineup. I remember great years with base running. Last edited by Coop; September 13th, 2007 at 10:36 AM. |

I think there are many questions that need asked.
I know the team has gone on record supporting Paletta, but the fact remains that on at least two occassions he has cost the Cardinals. 1) Carpenter- Paletta performed the first procedure and reportedly "visually examined" the ligament in Carp's elbow. He certified it as undamaged. Less than 6 months later it is determined Carp needs Tommy John sugery. Something doesn't add up. 2) Rolen- undergoes the initial repair of his shoulder. Then shortly therafter he is found to still be experiencing problems with the shoulder. Dr. Kremchek then looks at the shoulder and discovers there is a major seperation of the structure of the shoulder. Again a second surgery is necessary. As for whether we have more injuries than other teams, I simply don't know. I have often thought that teams should look more closely at the Braves pithcher's regimen from the 90's. They never seemed to have pitchers injured, but it may just be a trick of my memeory. If someone has a source for hard numbers on these types of things, it would be interesting to compare the number of injuries by team. edited for spelling |
